I started reselling on Poshmark in October of 2019.
It started out as cleaning out my closet, but turned into a little resale side hustle!

Here I share my tips for reselling, my hauls for reselling, and anything I feel inclined to share!

5 Easy Tips to Start Selling on Poshmark

I started reselling on Poshmark to get rid of things in my closet that I didn't wear anymore, and to make some extra income.  After I saw the money start to trickle in, I made it a full-blown side-hustle! I'm now 6 months in, and I've made a $760 profit.  I'm excited to see where I will be 1 year into reselling!

I'm sure many people right now are wondering how to start reselling during this pandemic and in general, so I've compiled 5 SUPER EASY tips to help you get started on Poshmark with what you already have at home.  I hope it helps!

1. CLEAR OUT YOUR CLOSET!

Take everything out of your closet that you haven't worn in over a year and put it in a pile.  Make sure it's clean and fairly free of wrinkles, and make sure that it doesn't bring you Marie-Kondo-joy anymore. Don't think about it too much!  The items in this pile will be your first listings!

2. TAKE PHOTOS!

Poshmark allows 8 photos for each listing.  Use them!  Take a picture of the front, back, details, flaws, and fabric/size/brand tags.  Don't get too crazy with it, but think about what you like to see in the pictures when you buy something online.  Make sure the pictures are clear and focused, and also try to use bright, indirect, natural light.
To achieve this, I put a pushpin in my wall in my living room windows when the sunlight is the brightest in that room.  I hang a hanger on the pin, and I hang the item I'm taking a picture of on the hanger.  This makes it SUPER easy to take pictures of everything!  For pants, I use a hanger with the clips on it, but if you don't have that you can take a picture of pants laid flat on a clean, clear background.

3. WRITE A CLEAR DESCRIPTION!

When you're shopping online, you want to be able to know exactly what you're getting, but you ALSO don't want to spend a day reading a description, am I right?  This is why photos are so important.  If you have photos to show the item, then you don't need to write a book about it!  Here's an example of my descriptions.

4.  SHARE CLOSETS!

Once you have your listings posted, you'll want to share your listings, as well as share other Poshers' closets!  Sharing your listings helps spread it on the Poshmark platform so others can see it, and sharing other's closets makes them more inclined to visit and share your listings.
The easiest way to share your own listings on your phone is to "edit, next, list", otherwise known as "EDL".  To do this, act as if you're going to edit you listing, but then just click through the screens to relist it. To share other Posher listings, go to their closet (or to the main feed if you're following people) and click the "share" icon.

5.  JUST START!!!

Don't think about it too much and just DO IT! You will never sell anything if you don't list it.  Don't worry about your closet looking a certain way, or having perfect listings.  Just do the simple things I listed to start reselling on Poshmark and be consistent with sharing! Make sure to tell me about your first sale in the comments! <3
